The 2017 Ottelia Limestone Coast Pinot Gris is made from Robe and Mount Gambier
grapes. It's golden in colour with a tinge of pink, and lemon, lime and sherbet
in perfume. It's sharpish-ish but delicious on the palate, noticeable
intriguing, surprising. A black-and white label with only LC in lime means the
single-flower-like image is uncertain: a peony or cotton bud? But from the web,
I learn that 'Ottelia Ovalifolia is
the horticultural name for the[native] waterlily' blooming on the vineyard.
This is a wine I'd always select from a menu. The winemakers suggest it as an
aperitif, which is code for me that I could have a glass in the evening before
a meal.
