2012 Cooks Lot Orange Pinot Gris
Bought this at Bottlemart, Dulwich Hill for around $20. A beautiful Pinot Gris. That wonderful lemony colour that has a touch of bronze, very pale, that you might even think of as casting into pink. A pear smell. Delicious in the mouth: a light orange fizz. Smooth, soft, and lingering. Has a beautifully elegant label of black, white and gold, with the year in its last two numbers as if burnt into a fence post (next to a vine). (The winemaking couple, Duncan and Amber, has an inner-western Sydney address of Enmore. but the vineyard is based in the Orange/Mudgee area, western NSW.)
